CRUSHING WEAR PARTS - DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW
For crusher wear parts, there is no conclusive proof to show that higher content than 18% manganese improves wear life. In fact, increasing the carbon levels, hence increasing the toughness, improves the wear. However, at 18% manganese content, the material has reached it’s maximum capacity for carbon levels considered acceptable.18% manganese products, as stocked by Precisionscreen to match Australian conditions, has an initial hardness of 248 BHN and can work harden to 400 BHN. In contrast, 20% manganese products only start with the same initial hardness of 248 BHN yet will work harden to lower hardness than products with less manganese content. If crushing suitable rock and stone to allow parts to normally work harden, 14% manganese would be the preferred as, although starts at 220 BHN, shall work harden to 450 BHN.
As a result, Precisionscreen work with international foundries including UK and Ireland to stock a range of crusher wear parts including jaw plates with different tooth profiles to match the Australian market requirements. We stock sharp tooth jaws, excellent for top size control, gripping ability and reduction ratio, which perform ideally against high fines material and/or low abrasion rock. Another option is our heavy corrugated jaw plates, good “fines transport” between the teeth and better for larger crusher CSS, which perform excellently against hard, abrasive material with angular rock and low fines content
